MP Morrison Pay Raise to be Directed to Food Banks

The legislation giving Members of Parliament an annual pay increase was passed in 2005, prior to MP Morrison taking office. Since first being elected in 2019, he has never voted for a pay increase. While individual Members of Parliament cannot stop the pay raise from going forward, they can decide what to do with the money received. MP Morrison has volunteered to donate the increase he receives to local food banks within the riding who are on the front lines helping our community during this difficult time. On April 8th, the Federation of Canadian Taxpayers released a list containing names of Members of Parliament who were donating this raise to charity and MP Morrison is proud to be among those included.
