Liberals Cancel Funding to Centre for Equitable Library Access
The Centre for Equitable Library Access provides necessary reading materials for people with print disabilities including those with vision loss, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. The Liberal government recently announced cuts in funding to the program totalling $4 million. This funding is critical in rural Canada, places like Kootenay-Columbia, where access and resources are limited, yet the Liberal government has decided to cut $4 million dollars in essential funding.
Just yesterday I issued a letter to Minister Qualtrough, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion, requesting that she immediately restore this funding for Canadian seniors and others who depend on it.
